I'm Going On A Social Media Blackout to Focus On My Next Book
No better place to do it than in Corfu, Greece
For the next 6 nights, this will be my view and work environment for my next book, which will be about fatherlessness & how it impacts children.
With that being said, I'm going on a social media blackout so I can focus and clear my head.
I've mentioned a couple times before that I started writing my second book and I feel very passionate about it. I haven't had much of an opportunity to truly focus on it like I wanted to because of other tasks. To be honest, I've been a bit burnt out from working 6-7 days a week.
One thing about writing is that you need time to focus and with the topic of this book, I need time to dive into my memory or find angles for topics to describe. I plan to have this book read somewhat like a memoir but link it to real issues facing all Americans.
My objective is to write a non-political, non-divisive, non-racial book that anyone from middle school and up can read and relate to. It will feature lots of story telling and if I do it right, it will touch a lot of people.
I'm still early in the process but from what I've shared with close friends, they're moved by how in depth and poetic it sounds. I hope to have it completed by the end of the year.
In the meantime, I'm going radio silent for the week. I won't be active on social media and will practice keeping my phone powered off (which I never do). It'll be a pleasant break as I sit on the beach in Corfu, Greece and write leisurely.
I'll be back in the swing of things by Sunday. If any of you have my number or email, if you send me a message, I'll respond when I can. I'm going dark starting tomorrow morning.
God bless!
