It’s very easy to internalize criticisms like the one you received as a personal attack. As Christians, I think it’s important we remember that many of the negative responses we see have nothing to do with us as individuals, or Christ for that matter. So many people outside of the faith carry damage and scar tissue caused by religion, Christians, or just people who claim to be Christians. Oftentimes they are lashing out, sometimes subconsciously, due to their past hurts and/or traumas. My guess is that your accuser here has been hurt in the past, and it likely had little to do with the teachings of Christ. Try not to reinforce his hate. It’s far more likely that religion or the religious hurt him rather than that he’s hating on you for a sincerely held belief you’ve developed. Don’t allow his pain to harm you. I would encourage you to press into this relationship with compassion and a desire to better understand this person, obviously while maintaining appropriate boundaries. Sure, as Christians we must be ready to dust our sandals off and move on, but do not respond in kind. You may have a unique opportunity to encourage healing for this person.

If there one thing I've learned is that you teach people how to treat you. Being that we had personal correspondence, it's important for me to establish a boundary of conduct. If this person has fair criticisms or questions, that's fine...but I do not tolerate disrespect. I will engage in good faith with just about anyone but I cannot let people who have had a personal interaction to publicly disrespect me and ignore it. I'll pray for them but I won't keep myself open for mistreatment.

I hear you, I really do. My little soap-box moment didn’t come from a place of judgement. Consider that it’s possible that you don’t have a responsibility to defend your ego anymore. That all belongs to God now. You put self aside and see the hurt in others. That is more important now. Executing this faithfully is nearly impossible for me, but I’m trying. Obviously I don’t have the whole context of your relationship with this dude, and as I noted, dusting your sandals off may have been completely appropriate, but maybe there’s a chance that with patience, you could be a positive milestone in his life.

But there is a positive though. I've had a couple of people reach out to me asking me about my journey because they want to be where I'm at today. The other day I had an hour long conversation with a Twitter follower of mine and it really helped him. If taking the occasional insult or bad faith comment means I get to bring just one person closer to Christ...it's worth it.

I disagree with Letsrock. As Christians we are called to be public about the good news. Unfortunately, many don’t know how to do it appropriately or effectively. Relationship has to come before rebuke for sure, and at very least, it’s best to have relationship before deep spiritual conversations. A public profession of faith, and telling one’s story should never be frowned upon, in any context.

I understand that...and yet sometimes, you must speak out about your life and your core beliefs. People may agree or disagree but it is your life and you have a right to speak. If someone disagrees, they can leave or block you. WEW

There will come a time when it will not be a gun to your head, but a knife to your throat. I don’t know that you or I will be alive at that moment. Building your faith in the God who created everything will mean EVERYTHING to those who will be forced to make a choice between good and evil. For those not forced to make that choice, but willingly make that choice, it will also mean EVERYTHING. The God of the universe can do all things EXCEPT make that choice for us. I’m so excited for you to have chosen Jesus! I’m seeing more people come to Him in these days of uncertainty. I’m not an end times right around the corner apologist, but I do wonder if something wicked this way comes and people can just feel it in their bones? I pray for your continued growth in the faith.

Mark, I agree and have struggled with truth telling for years. We have a responsibility to speak truth…… IN LOVE! So often we fail in that regard. Fear, hate and insecurity drive so much of the perspectives coming from Christians, and always have. We’ve got to love first, demonstrably, then hearts will be open to the truth. Please hear me, I’m NOT suggesting acceptance of sin in any manner. It’s not loving to condone or enable sin. The Liar uses our own frailty against those outside of the faith.

Here's a little help for those without faith:

Atheists and agnostics would start to find answers in peer-reviewed Near Death Experiences. Consciousness, intelligence, will, are all spiritual properties of the spiritual immortal soul. How do we know that? some of the blind from birth see in colors for the first time when they are brain dead (no electricity, no activity, no bloodflow, no oxygen) and also no heartbeat and no breathing. The same happens with some of the deaf: they listen for the first time to conversations around or if they go up, even celestial music!

“there are characteristic features that are commonly observed in NDEs. These characteristics include a perception of seeing and hearing apart from the physical body, passing into or through a tunnel, encountering a mystical light, intense and generally positive emotions, a review of part or all of their prior life experiences, encountering deceased loved ones, and a choice to return to their earthly life.”

"God is love" says the Bible, the Word of God (1 John 4:7-12) Do you believe in love? then you believe in God. How do you prove love to yourself? If you prove love, you prove God! There’s no love without God, the source of all true love. He’s not only the love of my life, He’s the life of my love!

Jesus said “I’m... the life.” (John 14:16)

“God gives life to everything.” (1 Timothy 6, 13)

Do you believe in life? You prove life, you prove God, eternal life, source of all life:

https://www.openbible.info/topics/god_is_life

That is where you should start your journey of discovery, but first pray: "God, life of my love, if you exist, please show me the way to find the bliss of knowing You"

or even better:

Think this with your heart: “Jesus, if you are the Son of God, I consecrate my heart to your Heart. Please send me the Holy Spirit so I can see Truth and have the courage to convert and follow Him wherever He leads”

How to get out of this political genocidal mess?

SIMPLE SOLUTION in 3 steps:

1. Pray MAGA: Make America God’s again. Pray “Thy Kingdom come”. Make the world His Kingdom of love. “God is love”.

The US national motto is “in God we trust”1, the Oath of Allegiance sums up in “so help me God”2, and the Pledge of Allegiance is “I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

“Under God”, not only means under God’s protection/providence, but also under God's will/authority and Commandments.

Separation of church and State means "freedom of conscience", i.e. that a Government should not impose any particular religion. It doesn't mean that public officials can't show and live their faith in public, and it means that the State must always put all actions "under God", definitely not “over” or against God’s Will. Lincoln: “the nation shall, under God, have a new birth of freedom.” 3

SSS = Satanic Secret Societies like freemasons, who in their documents worship Lucifer as their “Great Architect”.

Freemasonry is the church of Satan. “Separation of church and State” requires eliminating the freemasonic demono-cracy over Government (theocracy comes from “theo”, God, “cratos”, power, but this has nothing to do with God, but Satan and his demons, so it’s a demono-cracy).

Get the murderers out of government: force masons to self-identify by law under severe penalty (their oath doesn't forbid self-identification, also, evil oaths are void).

1st Amendment: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of (the masonic) religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof (of other religions, like they did with lockdowns); or abridging the freedom of speech (like the massive masonic censorship since 2020), or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble (lockdowns), and to petition the government for a redress of grievances (like the wrongful COVID response).”

----------------

2. MAGA (Make Assets Great Again): money should be 100% backed with gold and real assets. This makes masonic counterfeiting harder. They are buying everything with trillions of fake money: listed corporations, media, medical system, political parties, prosti-ticians, universities… !

Satanic secret societies like the masons are increasing the financial supply through:

- Forging dollars using the Federal Reserve they fully control

- Money creation through bank loans without reserves

- Financial “wealth” creation out of thin air through financial instruments such as derivatives

- Government debt

It's what I call finflation: inflation of financial instruments

The way out of this mess:

If you really understand what your enemies are doing, you'd prioritize other things essential for survival:

1. Issue asset-backed money: gold, silver, flour, gasoline, whatever tokenizable

2. Ban money not backed by assets

3. No legal tender: let markets decide

4. 100%-deposits-backed bank credit: so they don't create money out of thin air

5. Kill the Federal Reserve

Force all social networks and media to kill algorithmic moderation (shadow banning, etc.) and reinstate all closed accounts. Only messages selling things can be blocked IF it comes from outside one's network. Let people decide who's in their social network and that's it.

Replace the internet with a new peer to peer protocol, not government controlled, not centralized.

Get out of the UN organizations (including WHO), get out of the IMF, WorldBank, OAS, IADB, etc. All have been weaponized. Create alternative cooperative organizations.

Government spends 2x per student in public schools with respect to private ones and 3x at university level, with worse outcomes in all levels of education.

Time for a 100% voucher system, where parents can choose schools or earn the voucher money themselves if they homeschool (and their kids pass the exams), or through grand/parent/teacher coops.

This would allow many mothers to leave a work they hate and stay home with their babies and children, especially in the most important years of childhood until 6 years old. It would have a deep impact on society.

I"m impressed and surprised that you announced your baptism in your substack. Impressed because bold faith is somewhat rare, surprised because it is atypical for this venue. That said, job well done. You didn't preach, you simply shared your story and stated your understanding of the importance of the event to you. I think of the advice often attributed to Francis of Assisi “Preach the gospel. Use words if necessary.” I understand that to mean we need to be aware of our audience and you did so very well. As for the negative reaction, I immediately thought of the reaction when Ayaan Hirsi Ali announced her faith. Surprised me but, as with your 'rebuttal', I though she handled it well.

I look forward to more of your political, social and faith based commentary.
