I wrote this a long time ago when a close friend passed. It is the first time I have ever shared this publicly.
Friendship and Dying
When you develop a true friendship
You give a piece of yourself to your friend,
And your friend gives a piece of themselves.
A friendship is truly an exchange of soul and spirit
When a friend dies, that piece of you that was given dies too.
That is what makes having a friend die so hard.
But what makes us go on, is knowing that the soul and spirit given by a friend lives on.
It lives on in all of us that were friends.
Together we hold the essence of our friend and because of that they never die.
