Many of you may be familiar with the #Walkaway movement, which was started by Brandon Straka to document (and encourage) people to walk away from the Democratic party.
They reached out to me recently and asked me to film my walkaway story. It was a process to get to that point of wanting to disassociate with the Democratic party but I also wanted to emphasize that my walkaway wasn’t to just do the same thing on the other side.
To me, walking away meant listening to my principles over party ambitions.

Thank you for sharing; I’ve learned much from hearing your perspective. You are a remarkable man; a real thought leader.
I walked away with the PUMA (Party Unity My Ass) crowd, in 2008. I have zero regrets but I do wish the events that led to the PUMA movement weren't forgotten.
They are a key part of understanding the last 50 years of US politics.
