What we have now is what I call tailpipe environmentalism, where we, again, outsource the issues. It is like demanding a septic be placed on your neighbor’s property so you don’t have to risk the smell or contamination if it leaks.
Everyone, including the companies who work with/in China, are incredibly short sighted. They just want cheap labor and Americans are used to cheap goods. There is always a cost at the end...a sacrifice. If we keep going down this road, America will lose its footing.
And correct on the EVs. They're not environmentally friendly, they just shift the dirtyness at different areas of the chain. Let's not even get into the child labor and horrendous conditions in Africa to get the cobalt needed for the batteries.
