This is always intriguing to me- how people scream 'equality, benevolence, peace, compassion!!" and then so easily speak to others this way, all the while never answering the question at hand. I am having to avoid many people these days. I am so pleased that I can go incognito with this substack thing, because my true views need to be hidden.

Anyhow, I think you might have hit the nail on the head with regard to explaining this behavior. They think they are above others. We (anyone who disagrees with their viewpoint) are beneath them. Just answer the question. But, they can't. They are actually are the ones who need the civic lessons. They are uncomfortable when asked direct questions. Just explain the constitutional crisis and then we can debate. But, it is "beneath them".

I have to keep my mouth so wired shut in my everyday life, that I have so much to say when I actually feel safe enough to express my views. Toure very fired up says, "Seriously, do we have to give you a civics lesson? We've put all power in the Executive Branch, the Legislative Branch, the FBI, now we're in control the military, silencing media -- this is what you do in a dictatorship".

Executive Branch, (yes, the president is the executive branch -that is what he was elected to do)

the Legislative Branch, (the people elected this majority, yes)

the FBI, (yes, that is under the commander in chief)

now we're in control the military, (yes, indeed the Commander in Chief job description)

silencing media, (what is he referring to here? the AP not being able to come to the Oval Office? this isn't silencing anyone - it is just simply not inviting them anymore, which is trump's prerogative)

this is what you do in a dictatorship". (giant LEAP here b/c his lack of understanding from above does NOT add up to dictatorship) ugh.

"The people on these networks aren't normal though, which is why they look alien to us." Something I've never thought of, but which explains so much. Now I know what that weird sensation in my head is when I look at that stuff, as if my brain's trying to put pieces together that don't go together.

"The true irony is that Tappers' book is about how people weren’t allowed to talk about his mental decline, yet he was part of this enforcement. It's like the getaway driver complaining about the prevalence of bank robberies." The hand wringing of Trump/Vance being mean to Zelensky made my head hurt as it was the same pattern repeating itself. The same people championed destructive Covid insanity and now pretend they had nothing to do with it. My father was part of an elite university. Pre-Covid I loved walking on any university. Now they make me gag with their Darwinian snobbery.

Thank you Adam. I think it might be the first thing I’ve read from you. I don’t hardly watch the main stream anymore. I’m under the impression that MSNBC would act the same. Am I right? Also, I remember when RFK went public explaining why he was joining President Trump and letting go of his presidential run. I was watching it on ABC and firstly, was disappointed that they turned off his microphone after abt 5 min, which showed his picture of continuing to speak withan analyst on the other half of the screenI, and secondly, was amazed at how the analyst summarized what I had just heard. It was a jaw dropper, even after all the jaw droppers of the prior 4 years. I can’t find that video, but it was an amazing example of manipulation.

Thank you for taking the time to read it.

Yeah, I would say MSNBC is probably just nuttier. But there is an extra layer of elitism that CNN has over MSNBC. Just my opinion...honestly a toss up between the two.

CNN was once the gold standard of news back in the 1980s and 1990s who did groundbreaking reporting 24/7 and were the first to report live in the middle of an active war zone during the 1990-91 Persian Gulf War. They employed amazing on-air talents like Bernard Shaw, Peter Arnett and John Holliman. Today they are a far cry from that once sterling news organization every American trusted. Now they are left-leaning, anti-Trump network that caters to elitists, partisan Democrats and radical leftists. Most ordinary people never watch them. CNN doesn’t do real reporting anymore. They simply give liberals and leftists their “two minutes of hate” as George Orwell famously referred to it in his book “1984.” They do those panel “discussions” not to actually achieve real, constructive dialogue nor to educate you on current events but to entertain and be sensationalistic. I would describe it as being like WWE or bad reality TV shows like Jerry Springer, Maury or TMZ. That’s essentially what CNN has become. They love it when Toure or Solomon Jones do their race baiting and sneer with contempt and look down their nose at Scott Jennings. Or when Kaitlin Collins or Abby Phillip try to correct or argue with Kevin O’Leary. It’s all about the drama NOT the news! It’s about exploiting partisanship and dividing the country for financial gain and at the behest of those who pull their strings the oligarchy meaning the government, intelligence agencies, Wall Street and big business, and the military-industrial complex. That is if their not manufacturing consent for another war or doing a softball interview with a Democratic politician. Not that FOX News, OAN or Breitbart are any better. CNN are the epitome of rich elitist snobs from the coasts who are out of touch with Middle America thus why their a perfect fit to be the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party. They were a match made in heaven or in this case, h***. They employ reporters who come from the same rich, privileged backgrounds and will say anything for a check. Corporate tools with no morality or conscience like Brian Stelter, Abby Philip, Kaitlin Collins, Dana Bash, Anderson Cooper, Jake Tapper, and Sara Sidner. Jake Tapper’s new book is both sanctimonious and ironic because he himself participated in the very cover-up he’s writing about. That would be like if one of the Watergate burglars wrote a book on the Watergate scandal and acted as if he was never involved. Jake Tapper knew well Joe Biden has dementia and had no business serving in the White House and running for a second term. CNN is a total joke and uses the TV as a brainwashing machine. I advise everyone to stay far, far away from mainstream media and look to sources like C-Span, Tangle News, Ground News, AllSides, 1440, Merit Street Media, Public News, and the Jimmy Dore Show.

And they wonder why they continue to hemorrhage viewers and why trust in the MSM is at an all time low.

I’ve quit watching all TV news, for exactly these reasons. The rank condescension, snark, and vitriol made it unbearable. I can read an article about as fast as, and mentally edit it myself.

Great post! Funny thing happened to me yesterday. My good friend attacked me like I was Scott Jennings. Condescension was in full force (along with alcohol).
