Thanks for speaking up about this. You address supposed labor needs, but this is a lark. I'm a farmer, and I can tell you that although there is reliance on illegal immigrant labor, 1) existing workers are not being targeted: violent gang members and known criminals are, and 2) the nation increasingly picks crops with machines, and had plenty of migrant workers before admitting an additional 10 million -- who are NOT working in fields. In NYC, illegals were offered work permits (so they could vote in the election): only 2% signed up!

Perhaps these Dems should howl, "Who will provide our cheap heroin and fentanyl?" It is gangs serving cartels who mule the stuff over our borders. The trail of fentanyl can be traced from factory to morgue by chemical analogs, chemical signatures that permit authorities to literally map the path of individual batches of fentanyl from individual factories where it was manufactured to American streets. There is accompanying violence as well -- drug dealing is HUGE (tax-free) business income, and there is malicious brutality employed in protecting operations. I was a Special Public Defender for years during the crack epidemic -- the sophistication and tenacity of my (gang member) clients was astonishing.

You are right -- the Dems oppose anything Donald Trump supports, no matter how beneficial. Critical Race Theory and DEI are a neo-racist return to the eugenics legacy of "enlightened" liberal elites, and it is no surprise that they talk the talk of racist slaveholders, with similar lack of insight or shame.

Thank you for your perspective, especially as a farmer.

This Jim-Crow-Redux behavior is nothing new. About 15 years ago, Nancy Pelosi lamented on camera that if illlegal immigration was stopped, "who will mow our lawns and clean our pools?" The Dems are the party who promote the soft bigotry of low expectations.

I remember that now. Unfortunately there are a lot of examples of them saying the quiet part outloud.

Adam, I wish this article (vid) would have been available the campaign, pre-election. I can only wonder what push back and responses you would have received from liberal journalists, MSM and liberal pro illegal immigration politicians. You may have been censored.

"Their story of financial extortion is not rare; it’s industrialized." That frames it so well. This isn't a one-off here; it is an industry. And it is one supported by NGOs that industrialized human need. Your analogy to a slave ship is excellent as so many died along the way cast off the boats like trash. While progressive Dems like to talk about systemic systems that must be dismantled, somehow they forget the roots of the Dem party. It was the party of slavery pushing candidates to perpetuate slavery against Lincoln. (autobiography of Frederick Douglas.)

The Democrats are so blinded by hatred for Trump and the need to beat the Republicans at any cost they are starting to sound like John C. Calhoun or the Fire Eaters in the Antebellum South! They don’t seem to understand the dangers that come with illegal immigration nor the mass suffering it causes. When these illegal aliens arrive in America they become serfs to the Mexican Drug Cartels and if they don’t pay they are in big trouble. The Cartels are not to be trifled with nor are street gangs like MS-13 or Tren de Aruga. The logic the Dems use to defend this illicit trade is “but who will pick your crops?” or “who’s going to clean our toilets?” As if native-born Americans couldn’t be hired to do these jobs. The Dems are either unaware of or prefer to ignore the human trafficking of men, women and children that comes along with illegal immigration.

“But what about all the cheap labor we’ll loose?” is exactly what advocates of slavery in the 19th Century argued as you show in this article, Adam. It’s interesting to me for people who care about being “on the right side of history.” they have not seen the great wrong their doing here or the parallels between their arguments and those of slave owners well over a hundred years ago. We can’t get rid of slavery, who’ll do all the dirty jobs we don’t want to do? Never mind the human trafficking, sex trafficking, drug dealing, kidnapping of children, rape, murder, and robbery that gets done to illegal immigrants.

They are defending the indefensible in the name of “resisting” Trump and partisan politics. The dangers of illegal immigration and how much money it’s costs us which is a tremendous amount, doesn’t seem to bother them at all. They think Trump is Hitler and their standing up to him as the heroic resistance. Not realizing that it’s the other way around. Trump (warts and all) is the hero fighting the great evil of the Cartels while they are the ones acting like Nazis defending and perpetuating an inhumane system. Hitler would actually have greatly admired what their doing.

The Democrats are so unhinged at this point that Mr. Trump could cure every form of cancer known to man, save all the rain forests, bring about world peace, clean up all the oceans, and bring America record prosperity and they still wouldn’t be happy, would say he didn’t do it fast enough and would find a way to spin it negatively. If Trump proposed a national holiday to honor the heroes on the Underground Railroad, Democrats would come out against it and say Trump was just using black suffering or the heroism of those on the railroad to make himself look good. 🤦‍♂️

I agree with all you say except I do think the dems know exactly the misery their policies are causing. They don't care. They won't be happy until they wipe out civilization and have all of us groveling in their mud.

Adam - this is one of the best commentaries you’ve written. It’s so brilliantly done and weaved together. I’ve made the analogy about slavery but you used that same analogy in such a compelling manner. Your logic is unassailable and the facts clearly on your side. Just brilliant and so effective. Thank you.

What’s needed in the room are adults who understand the concept of tough love. Do the thing which appears tough or mean (prevent illegal immigration) because in the long run it’s better for everyone involved. When you’re thinking about the other person it’s the path that you come to naturally. The democrats are thinking about themselves and as a result they support what in the surface appears to be the kind and caring policy, but it’s not because it’s about them. The democrats apparently haven’t changed their character since 1860, just the targets of their attentions.

I agree with you that the Nadler clip is obscene. I wonder if a rationally administered guest worker system wouldn't go some way toward getting the vegetables picked without empowering human traffickers.

The Democrats are so corrupt it’s unbelievable. I think now the Democrats are paying people to look like Democrats and speak the same bull crap they do . Anyone with real common sense, Would not agree with all the lies spoken by them . The Democrats have paid groups of protesters now days all paid by our taxpayers money .

Good lawd! I couldn't continue watching those clips. "But who would pick the cotton?" That's the question these ostensible servants of the people are asking, and they do it with a straight face! They double down by acting as if Trump is the author of such racist, simple-minded lunacy. Wow. Just wow.

The democratic party is so detached from reality they pretend they can't fathom suffering beneath their elitist pedestal station in life. Their political platform should be: "Let them eat cake!"
