You are a fantastic writer, so I should not be surprised that this piece goes straight to the point with such clarity. I voted for Obama in 2008 and have not been able to articulate why. Then you just go and write a simple sentence that frames it perfectly. Thank you as always for sharing your gift with us.
I don't know how the Dems can recover from what they've done to themselves by going extremist-hyperbolic in the opposite direction of all the most popular policies. The gaslighting, shrieking, and revisionist history can only continue for so long before it simply wears everyone out. The people left in that party will be the ones parading in the streets holding signs with vulgarities while 80% of Americans return to their sanity. The party has just become too binary for reasonable people to remain with it.
The democrat party is a clear and present danger to the United States. It is a subversive quasi-Marxist political organization. I say quasi because they still have American trappings, but the long and the short of it is that we have a political party that doesn't believe in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights, but the communist manifesto. And their goal is to "fundamentally transform" the United States into a Marxist democratic republic, as that's what they'll call it
Great article Adam, you have a gift and I believe God is using you. I also want two sane parties where people are able to listen and speak productively again. You state things in a straightforward manner that explains the situation without throwing rocks and demonizing others. The truth is so many people only know what they hear on the news. Like Elon says, “now we have to be the news”. BTW, you and your family are in my prayers often.
INTERESTING that Obama, while being quite publicly vocal re: illegal immigrants and deporting them, also allowed or facilitated the mass migration of Somalis into Minnesota.
Hi Adam, the ground shifted beneath your feet, and you were left adrift as the classical liberalism that the USA was ironically founded on evaporates on the left hand side of the aisle ... it has diluted itself on the right hand side of the aisle too but not at the accelerated rate that it has on the left ...
Common sense delivered in a straight forward, direct and succinct manner wins every time. What you described is what I suspect possibly millions of current Republican voters think, feel and experienced. I’ve heard more former democrats say essentially the same thing: “I didn’t leave the Democrat Party, it left me.” And from its current position on the far fringe of the far left the Democrats rail against the “right wing” Republicans, not realizing or ignoring the truth that their perspective is tainted by the far left drift of their own party rather than any significant right-ward lurch from the Republicans. The GOP has not significantly changed but the democrats bear little resemblance to the Democrat Party I grew up around in the 1960s and 1970s. Those democrats were ardent anti-communists and now the Democrat Party is close to morphing into the communist party of America. The “Democrat” mayor of New York is an openly avowed communist. And there are more.
Superb writing as usual Adam. Thank you for the truth and common sense. Both are as rare as unicorns today.
Thanks for this. I'm a conservative/classical liberal and I struggle to convince people that my vote isn't tied to Republicans or Democrats, but to policies. My left-leaning family sees me as a "Republican defender" when I point out issues that I have with the Democratic Party as it is right now. Relatives both R and D are annoyed that I (in their words) threw away my vote last election by voting for Kennedy after he dropped out. What I did was vote for the person who put forward more policies that I was on board with than things I wasn't. I would gladly, gladly vote for Democratic representatives if they hadn't moved so very far away from my centrist positions over the last few years.
On a slightly different note, I hope we'll get to see some version of this article from people on the right as well, as that party is rapidly evolving in some ways as well, and I love to hear this kind of thoughtful analysis from people on all sides. It helps me think through political issues, especially when talking them out with folks in real life lately seems to cause confusion and conflict - I don't tend to articulate my points well and I know it leads to frustration from my conversation partners.

Lol thank you. It's my pleasure.
I sincerely want two sane parties who care about Americans.
This one is a banger.

Thank you and I agree

Thank you and that's very sweet of you. I appreciate your prayers. God is good.
Point on and well written. Thank you. Saving to share with old friends when they ask me “why have you changed?”
Lots of that going on. The shift is real.
I agree, but I’ m still concerned about my old friends who have stayed with this party and have believed the exaggerated rhetoric
Perfectly said!!!
Thank you
