I didn't watch the town hall. I have an allergy to CNN, which has gotten worse since the start of the Great Covid Dumpster Fire. Still, I am not surprised. Something you said hit me in a soft spot.
This. "She's not a brawler, a fighter for something she desperately wants or believes in. She's a schmoozing opportunist who likes the title but not the work involved. She's not used to getting dirty and having heaps of pressure to succeed in such a public way."
There are those who would say she "slept her way to power" in Cali. I don't know for sure on that account, but for an absolute certainty she has received all she has in the national political arena because she was picked. She was picked as VP by Biden for the same reason Biden was picked by Obama. Obama needed an old white dude to legitimize him. Biden needed a Black woman to help him. The level of BS is almost chin high at this point!
She wants to be President while also not having to do any of the hard work. A “schmoozing opportunist” is a really good way of describing her. Also, her ego is out of control.
Excellent summary. Mrs. Harris is a known entity in California to me over the last 20+ years and your observation that she has practically glided into every political position is astute, and not lost on many of us who have watched her ascension. Her reactions and fumbling answers during interviews are a testament to the lack of political acumen she never had to develop due to never being fully tested.
When others have made comments stating she lacks intelligence, I've been taken aback. But I now believe she does lack intelligence. True that she has never been fully tested, but I believe someone of even moderate intelligence would learn from observation, and she has made no progress in demonstrating she's a fit candidate and she is not absorbing any lessons. This goes to show the stereotype of all Asians as brilliant doesn't meet the smell test. I'm beginning to believe she made it through law school on her looks.
I think she is "book smart". She can study and things of that nature. People agree she did well for the debate because you can tell she prepared for it. Debate questions are predictable but when you have an uncontrolled environment, she falls flat. She's not talented enough as a speaker or quick to come up with a smooth answer like most presidential candidates.
My opinion on the debate was she gave vague, general responses that told the voters nothing. I thought all AC's questions were basic questions she should have been able to answer, like being asked in a job interview "Why do you want to work here?" I think because she often falls into a word salad when she can't answer, many saw her vague answers as doing well, and it was, for her.
Agreed. She’s STILL answering the question about what she would do differently than Biden as President the same exact way, even while she’s trying to be the change candidate. How can she not have figured out yet that it isn’t working for her? I’m pretty sure she’s just not that smart.
She’s Napoleon’s mule. She was in the tent when the great conferences were held on the great battlefields of Europe that decided the fate of nations. Over a decade of active campaigning.
And still, somehow, she is still just a braying jackass.
It's interesting how Kamala likes to sell herself as an attorney who has litigated tough cases. Yet most good courtroom attorneys can think on their feet and speak confidently and convincingly to the court. I'm not buying what she's selling.
I was surprised to hear recently that nobody can actually produce evidence of more than an handful of cases that she ever litigated and even those are questionable.
Her intelligence, or lack thereof, has become increasingly clear over the past couple of months. It appears that she has learned nothing during this time. When asked the same question over a period of days, her answers remain unclear, incoherent or both. She seems unable to answer questions with any degree of specificity. She’s unqualified for any position of serious responsibility.
She is so inept. I've never heard anyone speak so much without saying anything. So excuse me if, when I hear a Dem pundit praise her interviews, I think they're just too stupid to know they've been hoodwinked.🤦🏼♀️
Adam, that was an incredibly insightful analysis of Harris. Really excellent. The combination of breaking down her character and personal ticks, combined with an analysis of her past experiences both in campaigning and getting elected and in the offices in which she served, is a superb look at the real Kamala Harris. I think you're right or mostly right on every single point.
I also appreciate your empathy, which is very human, a reason that I read what you write. One cannot help but empathize with her when she's interviewed. The cringe factor is so high. She's like the guy who should be embarrassed but isn't b/c he's clueless, but everyone else in the room is aware, embarrassed and cringing on his behalf.
You do give her a nice out on being dumb...or stupid. That's really charitable but I think you're wrong. There is stupid and there's really stupid and then there's REALLY STUPID. So maybe she's not REALLY STUPID but she is really stupid. Anyone with a quick, flexible intellect could easily dance through these interviews with minimal to no preparation. The questions are almost entirely predictable and they're from friendly hosts who so obviously and so desperately want her to do well. Contrast Harris with JD Vance...I'm sure he's well prepared but he's also really, really smart...REALLY SMART...and he's got a quick, flexible intellect, so he routinely handles and embarrasses leftist democrat propagandists posing as reporters. He looks like he's fencing with a child, taking candy from a baby, whatever euphemism you prefer. And nearly everyone who interviews JD Vance or Trump, like Anderson Cooper, literally despises them and wants them to fail miserably. Kamala on the other hand is the proverbial deer in the headlights. So I really appreciate your classy, kind, human and empathetic approach in writing that she struggles but it's not because she's dumb...so I do respectfully disagree. I don't think she has an intellect that's up to the challenge. She's just not that bright and I think her word salads are a reflection of both her lack of intellectual capacity and her lack of confidence and level of discomfort. JD Vance is confident because he knows he's very well prepared and he knows he's smart.
But I'm quibbling...this was a great column. You've been on a roll now for so long. You're like the Yankees of the 1950s, when they won 6 (I think) World Series. Dominant.
lol thank you for the Yankees reference (despite me being a woeful Mets fan)
I would only say that, she's a lawyer and you do need a certain IQ level to make it that far of being a lawyer and a public attorney. I'm not saying she's a genius or clever. I think she has a false ego and that's why she is where she is.
I appreciate your response greatly. I'm trying my best to be as fair as possible when it comes to my analysis and I appreciate you noticing this.
The discourse today is...let's say often problematic and crass and unnecessary and your comments are a breath of fresh air. You're able to be critical but not mean and that's refreshing. I don't mind mean, but everyone is mean, and it's nice to try and see others on the opposite side from a human perspective.
One other thing...I am an attorney...which makes you only more curious about my military career I'm sure. I not only have a Juris Doctor degree but also a post doctoral LL.M, which is a "Masters of Law" but its not like a Master's Degree in that it requires one to have a doctorate first, the Juris Doctor, in order to undertake the course of study for the LL.M. In Germany and many places in Europe it's actually considered a second doctoral degree and gets you introduced as "Herr Doctor Doctor Major...." Ask me how I know this, hahaha. My LL.M was in Military Law, like most Army Judge Advocates, with an additional Specialty in International Law. I tell you that only for credibility purposes in my next statement: I've seen a number of complete imbeciles who were lawyers and public attorneys. I went to law school with them and I served in the US Army JAG Corps with them. There are a lot of lawyers who aren't as bright as they hope others think they are.
I would have chosen the Mets but I couldn't find a decade where they won more than one World Series. I was hoping for a subway series this year, so I was rooting for your Mets against the Dodgers.
My wife and I were just discussing how things would go if she were elected. I said they would rip her to shreds. Who is 'they'? Pretty nearly everyone. She is nothing but a placeholder and everyone in DC knows it. No one will fear her. She is not clever enough to game the system or build alliances. They will rip her to shreds.
It's not that Kamala couldn't answer the immigration question. She refuses to answer that question because her immigration policy is wide open boarders.
You bring up excellent points regarding her background and I agree with most of what you say. However despite obviously being unprepared, and having a reputation of not being interested in being prepared, I still think it is very possible she is also just dumb. What intelligent person would not be interested in having some background knowledge before making decisions. Her refusal to read policy papers is concerning and may just reflect laziness. Or just stupidity.
It's possible but I think anyone who is able to pass the bar has an adequate level of intelligence. We shouldn't forget that she is a lawyer. She's just not good at this...it's a different animal.
I also think she's reasonably intelligent & that we're barking up the wrong tree by obsessing about that.
Her problem is that she literally wears a straight jacket. She cannot say one authentic word for fear of offending *someone* in the terminally offended group of people that is her base.
Boris Pasternak's words are relevant here:
"The great majority of us are required to live a constant, systematic duplicity. Your health is bound to be affected by it if, day after day, you say the opposite of what you feel, you grovel before what you dislike and rejoice at what bring brings you nothing but misfortune. Our nervous system isn’t just a fiction, it’s part of our physical body, and our soul exists in space and is inside us, like teeth in our mouth. It can’t be forever violated with impunity.”
That's why she's so so brittle and prone to hysterical outbursts of laughter.
I think every time she has to go off-script she panics. When she panics she takes Xanax. Edward Dutton has a recent video where he discusses her "tells" for drug abuse. He suspects that she is "micro-dosing" to attempt to stay on an even keel during a campaign she is unprepared for. I wonder just how "micro" her doses are? Is she similarly micro-dosing on wine?
Everything you say about her is accurate - she is a deeply unimpressive candidate, lacking confidence and convictions. She hasn't had a single noteworthy *moment* or viral incident the whole campaign. Gained no measurable traction on any issue.
Which begs the question, if she wins... how? There's no *there* there. Are American voters really so complacent to elect someone they know nothing about, who has done almost nothing they could possibly point to to earn it? I don't buy it.
Kamala likes the idea of being president, the adulation. Yet, she is unqualified because she has not had to do the work because opportunities have been handed to her. I appreciate your post and have paraphrased your truth. She is consistently unprepared.
I didn't watch the town hall. I have an allergy to CNN, which has gotten worse since the start of the Great Covid Dumpster Fire. Still, I am not surprised. Something you said hit me in a soft spot.

Good point.
Communist News Network is all the propaganda the Leftist Jew Haters feel fit to broadcast.

She's incarnate evidence of the "Peter Principle." (Everyone rises to their level of incompetence.)

I believe the number is under 10 and even then she might not have been lead.

It's called confirmation bias and denial. People will rationalize anything to validate their positions.
Well stated. Her vapidity is terrifying.

A good politician can come up with a good enough line that sort of answers the question without doing so. She completely wiffed.
Every time.

Very interesting. If you can share the link to that video, that'd be great.
Look on YouTube for the Jolly Heretic. It was posted in the last week.
A fantastic and accurate depiction of who Kamala Harris is!
She is the most inauthentic person in this country which is what most communists are.
Everything you say about her is accurate - she is a deeply unimpressive candidate, lacking confidence and convictions. She hasn't had a single noteworthy *moment* or viral incident the whole campaign. Gained no measurable traction on any issue.
