Have you ever heard the quote "And what should they know of England who only England know?" Substitute "the USA" for "England" and you have your journey; you had to stand outside your country to truly know it: the North, South, East, and West Wind roared to tell you so. Not me; very telescoped Kipling: "The English Flag" from the decade before we lost our way so catastrophically with Asquith's Liberals.
