The Obama administration passed a new rule in the FMCSA that got rid of the English-language requirement for truck drivers. They were importing the drivers that they wanted.” I didn't vote for Obama. The reports that he attended a Church with anti-white rants were a big issue for me. He was raised by his white mother and grandparents. As a mother of a mixed race child, his willingness to throw them under the bus for political gain was sinister and a character that was weak. While the change you write about has a 'feel good' equity vibe, considering all the corruption tied to the Dem party, I wonder if there was a payout. Illegals can get driver's licenses in CA. It was packaged as a safety measure: illegals were going to drive anyone, and this ensured they had insurance. This isn't what happened. The driving of everyone has degraded. Construction workers, gardeners, etc., who used to be the most polite drivers, now speed through stop signs like everyone else. In the past two years, drivers in my household have been hit three times. All were white drivers, and none had insurance. Humans signal behavior to others. Instead of the best behavior being signaled, we are signaling the trashiest of behavior. As a side note, Pirate Wires have covered that the doordash drivers in NYC are illegals barely getting by. Progressives point to capitalism as being corrupting. The free market isn't the problem. What is corrupted is the ability to make policies that favor money making corruption.
Not just truckers, my daughter recently hit in car accident by a Somalian in MN. My niece was hit in car accidents by illegal who never showed for court date. My son hit by an underage immigrant driver. Damage was limited to the cars only, we are grateful no lives were lost, but costs for everyone are rising.
My father in law is a trucker. It's a huge issue.
