The summation that leftism is generally based upon resentment is outstanding! As a descendant of slaves, I find the concept of "microaggressions" laughable. How could a people descended from people who survived weeks long transport in the hold on a boat, amid horrible squalor and real hardship, be even cognizant of something that could be categorized as a "micro" anything? I am too busy doing me to spend much time looking for grievance or a way to take offense.

Where is our leadership? You know, about 30 years ago, Oprah was a huge promoter of “gratitude”; now she’s part of the grievance group. Why are we continually chasing that which makes us LESS happy?
Truth Adam, absolute truth. Leftism is a philosophy that can't raise or help group without simultaneously tearing another group down. For them the pie is finite and to help some means to take from others because the pie is only so big. This is the main reason why it's a broken philosophy. That it is resentment based goes hand in hand with how it operates. I am glad that you're going to talk to someone who recognizes this and will discuss it. Wouldn't a philosophy that seeks to raise everyone be so much better for the country/world? Resentment just divides and the left thrives on that resentment. Envy is the root of all evil. I'd like a philosophy that brings us together, thank you. I just don't think its too much to ask from the elites in our political class. If they can't come up with anything better they clearly haven't advanced an inch since cavemen. I want to feel and be on the same team with all of my fellow Americans.
